Cycling
Immediately adjacent to Bardolph View on the west side of the A612 there is a 3.0m wide shared foot/cycleway which provides a traffic-free cycle route to Gedling Country Park which includes a number of recreational cycle routes. This traffic-free cycle route also continues southwards and there is a controlled-crossing at the Colwick Loop Road junction opposite M&S where you can cross safely to reach the traffic-free cycle route on the other side of Colwick Loop Road. The traffic-free cycle route does narrow at this point until the Vale Road junction to the south but this is a signed cycle route to Nottingham City Centre and the provision widens to 3.0m from Vale Road to the City Centre.
Explore your local community by bike
We are encouraging families to get more out of life – by getting on your bike and exploring the local community – either for an outing at the weekend, a trip to the local shops, part of the school run, or a daily commute. As well as Gedling Country Park, Colwick Country Park can be reached by the traffic-free route identified above and includes pleasant cycle paths around the Lake for you and your family to enjoy.
